What can drive you nuts??? Sales !!!

Sales!!!
Ever hear those stories of people going crazy during sales ? It turns out there’s a possible psychological factor involved. In a study, scientists surveyed people who’d taken part in a big sale event and found that some had literally crazy symptoms.

People reported anxiety, didn’t care about their fellow shoppers and said it was like walking in a dream. So it’s good news for some: if you destroy someone’s face with a Grill just so you can grab the last half-price LCD TV, you can claim temporary insanity when they haul you in front of the judge...lol

What can drive you nuts? Babies !!!

Having a new baby is a blessed event for a family, full of joy and happiness… except when the woman gets depressed and decides to kill herself and the baby.
Called Postpartum Depression, the suicidal and murderous thoughts only happen in some cases, but can last for months or longer. Symptoms of this can make it difficult for the new mother to care for the new baby, or even handle simple daily tasks.
It’s a surprising condition. What could possibly be depressing about having a small bundle of joy that cries at all hours of the night and can’t be reasoned with no matter how hard you try?hahahha....

What can drive you nuts? Living alone!

Researchers have also found that those who lived alone were more likely to be on anti-depressants.
Aside from just depression, some who live alone have claimed that they do weird things, like talk to themselves , run on the spot while watching TV, etc....

Three Ladies in a Sauna

Three women, two younger and one senior citizen were sitting naked in a sauna. Suddenly, there was a beeping sound.

One of the young women pressed her forearm and the beeping stopped. The others looked at her questioningly. “That was my pager”, she said, “I have a microchip under the skin of my arm”.

A few minutes later, a phone rang. The other young woman lifted her palm to her ear. When she finished, she explained, “That was my mobile phone…I have a microchip in my hand”.

The older woman felt very low-tech. Not to be out done, she decided she had to do something just as impressive. She stepped out of the sauna and went to the bathroom. She returned with a piece of toilet paper hanging from her rear end. The two young women raised their eyebrows and stared at her. The older woman finally said….”Well, will you look at that…I’m getting a fax!”

Stress & Anxiety

The fast paced city lives we  lead give rise to much anxiety and stress, leading to psychological trauma & disorders - And these are the new silent killers today. Even kids are commiting suicide over school work what more abt us adults. We worry about everything......We need to revaluate our lives now. Slow down, experts said  mediation helps.

•Meditation stabilises your blood pressure, normalises the heart rate, regularises your breathing pace and allows the system to use oxygen better. All of these help the body to cool down, thus enabling it to manage stress and anxiety related disorders.

•As your system cools down, the adrenalin glands of your body produce less of cortisol which, over time, helps in reducing the pace of the aging process of the mind, and boosts immunity as well.

•Meditation also helps in improving our quality of life. Regular meditation boosts will power and helps us to get over bad habits like smoking and drinking, which play a major role in worsening stress and anxiety related disorders.

However, in order to reap the advantages of meditation to the fullest, one needs to practice regularly for sustained results and prolonged relief from stress, anxiety,  tension and related ailments. To begin with, Take just 5 to 10 mins each day to do nothing- maybe concentrate on an object. You'll see it'll do you a world of good. YES... it's that simple.

Ginseng????

I'm researching into what chinese medicine can help with this. The ancient emperors drink (thousand year) ginseng everyday. But these days, the prices of these rare specimens are just too high for commoners like us. Anyway I dont think they exist anymore. How can lay people like us tell the difference btw wild ginseng & the  cultivated ones???Then there's the fake ones in the market!!!! It could be just roots from weeds for all you know!

How do we age?

Basically there are 2 types of aging: biological or intrinsic  and extrinsic aging -due to environment.

Biological or intrinsic aging is determine by your genes so it happens to all of us. Though you cant change it, you can definitely slow it down!

-In your 30s, cell regeneration starts slowing down. So does collagen, elastin, & oil gland production. You don't look so fresh anymore! Face could be blotchy, dull, fine lines start appearing.

-In your 40s everything gets a little worse. As you continue to lose collagen & fats, skin lose the firmness gets dry. More wrinkles appear, hyperpigmentation become more & darker.

-In your 50s and above, the hormonal shifts of menopause with a dwindling of estrogen supply can cause lots of trouble. Lines & wrinkles deepen, lips thin, neck skin look wrinkled & drooping. Then there's gravity, & unfortunately some of us are  prone to skin sagging !!! You might not feel old but your appearance will convince you that you are OLD!!!!

Extrinsic aging on the other hand is totally within our control!

Exposure to sun, smoking, late nights, stress: the 4 main culprits will age your skin & make you cry! That's the reason why an anti-aging regime is protecting your skin from these extrinsic factors in the first place!
